Same-Day Emergency Appointments

We make every effort to see existing patients the same day whenever possible. If you are new to our office, we’ll evaluate your situation and do our best to schedule you as quickly as our schedule allows.

Common Dental Emergencies We Treat

We routinely treat dental emergencies such as:

  • Severe toothaches
  • Broken, chipped, or cracked teeth
  • Knocked-out or loose teeth
  • Lost fillings or crowns
  • Dental abscesses and infections
  • Swelling of the gums or face
  • Broken dentures or dental restorations

What Should I Do During a Dental Emergency?

While you’re on your way to our office:

  • If a permanent tooth has been knocked out, carefully pick it up by the crown (not the root), gently rinse it if dirty, and keep it moist in milk or saliva if possible.
  • For swelling, apply a cold compress to the outside of your face.
  • If a tooth has broken, save any pieces if you can and rinse your mouth with warm water.
  • If you’re experiencing significant pain, over-the-counter pain medication may help until you’re able to be seen, unless otherwise directed by your physician.

Our team will provide additional instructions based on your specific emergency when you call.

After-Hours Emergencies

Dental emergencies don’t always happen during business hours. If your emergency occurs after hours, please call our office and leave a detailed message describing your situation. We’ll return your call as soon as possible with guidance and arrange follow-up care when appropriate.

If you are experiencing difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding, severe facial trauma, or believe you have a life-threatening medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
